((Title comes from My Chemical Romance's song 'Teenagers'. Not only was I listening to this song, but one line really caught my attention for this thread: Teenagers scare the living sh*t outta me. Now, it kinda fits the thread, huh?

Like the title, it's completely open, so yes, that does mean I want peeps to join. 8D

Oh, and here's a pic of Halloween Town Ren: http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k279/briraven48/Storage/stupidpeople-1.png))

A word often used to describe Ren was 'stubborn'. 'Headstrong' and 'tempermental' were also two common ones.

Right now, the last one was very much into effect.

Well, first off, her outfit seemed to have changed. And her old one suited her fine, thank you very much. She was now pale, and I mean extremely pale, paler than an albino. (Of course, she nearly was an albino normally, but that's beside the point.) Her prized boots had been replaced with black flats. Well, that was idiotic. How the hell was she supposed to run in those things?! Instead of red shorts, she was wearing calf-length black trousers...that seemed to have rips in them. Her black tanktop had been replaced with a short white vest. And that was it. Well, that made her feel slightly exposed... She was wearing spiked black gloves and across her face was a black stripe. She was wearing onyx skull earrings (she never wore earrings!) and a black headband that kept some of her short black hair out of her crimson eyes. A black skull tatoo was on her right forearm. At least she still head that black sash around her waist where her prized dagger hung from. The only splash of color on her at all were her remarkably bright red eyes (as they were like that normally). She didn't have her eyepatch on (she hardly wore it anymore) so both crimson eyes were exposed.

All in all, she rather resembled a sort of ghost pirate.

She stalked forward angrily, a bit unhappy that she was still absurdly thin and frustratingly short (5'2") for a fifteen-year-old. Her right hand rested against the dagger's hilt, ready to lash out at any forces that might try and stop her. ...From whatever she was doing.

To tell the truth, she was simply wandering through this strange, dark town. Even the stars were gone, which she had used to navigate with many times (being a sky pirate and all). Her ship had landed slightly ruggedly, but she didn't particularly want to lift off quite yet. Probably because she needed supplies...like, oh, I don't know, maybe food? She had to sustain herself once in a while, at least.

She stopped walking in the middle of the square, next to a fountain, and peered around, searching for a place that might hold the things she was in need of, preparing to either use the meager amount of munny that rested in her munny pouch or to steal.

Unfortunately, no such place came to her view, and she just stood there, continuing to search.

((Time to get more use out of Tony. Ref pic.))

Halloween Town... interesting place. For one, it was a dark place, most of the time. Loaded with nightlife, of a sort. For another, it seemed to like things creepy. Tony looked again at the black claws that had replaced his hands and feet, the constantly shifting glowing golden patterns across his arms, face, and his (suddenly bare) torso, and the belted pants that had somehow taken the place of his normal jeans. His hair was its usual blond color, but had grown a bit, his goatee now looking kinda scruffy, and his already messy mop now looking even less organized. He still had the sunglasses that he always wore, but for once he didn't need them; his solid red eyes would fit in perfectly around here. He hung them off of one of the many belts on his pants, and grinned.

He liked this place.

Leaning against one of the fences in the town square, Tony absorbed his surroundings for a bit. The place was dead tonight. Only one other person there, a girl, stark white skin and solid black clothing. A victim.

"Hey. Ya. Ya lost, chickie?" The blond remained leaning against the fence where he was, not moving an inch. There'd be time for that later.

The hairs rose on the back of Ren's albino neck, and she spun around, narrowing her crimson eyes. She spotted the person who had spoken--a guy, older than her, and definitely taller (well, who wasn't taller than her?). One look at him, however, and the pirate felt a sense of forebidding curl up in her stomach.

This guy was trouble.

Her face remained cold and impassive as she crossed her arms over her flat stomach. The dagger was clenched in her right fist, however, a definite sign of her being tense.

"Being lost requires knowing where you're going in the first place," she quipped coolly in response, arching a thin black eyebrow. "What's it to ya, buddy?"

Unbeknowst to the guy, Ren was shifting her weight to the balls of her feet, ready to dash at a moment's notice. She was not about to relax, not in a place that could possibly be hostile with someone she didn't know standing within a twenty-foot radius of her. She was too well trained for that.

Hey, she hadn't been a pirate for these last five years for nothing, right?

Heh. Chickie was tense. Already had a weapon out. And what had he done, besides ask a question?

"Why so tense, chickie? Ya scared? Makes sense, in a place like this. Ya gotta name, chickie?" Tony replied, annoyingly cheerful, smirk plastered on his face. Something about the light patterns shifting across his face though...

It was one creepy smile.

((Not particularly long, but it's what I could come up with for now.))

Ren arched an eyebrow coolly. "Scared? Don't know the meaning of the word. This place is nothin'."

Indeed, the pirate was not lying--she wasn't frightened, not one bit. Oh, sure, adrenaline was pumping through her veins, and she was slightly tense, but that didn't mean she was scared.

She was, as said earlier, too well trained for that.

She pursed her lips at the guy's next question. "Do I look like an idiot to you?" she shot back, hotheaded as ever. "Do you think I'd just randomly hand out my name to some random guy? No. No, I would not."

That was a bit of a rant, Ren mused to herself, rocking back on her heels slightly, still gripping her dagger in her right hand.

Tony raised his hands - well, claws, now - defensively, still smiling.

"Just tryin' ta be friendly, chickie. Ya never know wha's gonna jump outta tha shadows inna place like this. Monsters everywhere, 'specially in tha dark."

Halloween Town was one of those places where the stars had started going out, making the already spooky town spookier. The locals here, though, loved it. They lived for the thrill of the scare.

"'n with tha dagger there, one o' 'em might t'ink ya were a threat. Might take ya out 'fore ya even get a chance ta react. Just like that." On the last word, Tony snapped his long black claws, which made a clicking noise as they came together. All throughout, his smirk stayed on his face, almost immobile.

Ren heard the guy's smug words, saw his infuriating smirk. She seethed at the way he called her 'chickie', as it was an insult to her pride. But when the words registered in her brain, and when she heard his claws click ominously together, she couldn't help it.

She smirked.

Her eyes glinted with a steely fire, seemingly unquenchable. She smirked wider, tossing her hair behind her shoulder.

"I know a thing or two about monsters," she said casually, grin still in place, idly inspecting her fingernails. A sarcastic motion clearly saying, Oh, wow, you're so scary, I can't even properly pay attention. "Of course I'm a threat...what, can't you tell?"

She directed her grin right at him, defiant. The dagger was still clenched in her right hand--did he really think she would drop her guard that easily?--and she was still rocking on the balls of her feet, but nevertheless she was grinning.

His idea of monsters was ridiculous. Things that popped out from the dark of night? Those weren't scary. Now, Ren knew what frightening was. Being pursed by hundreds of thousands of millions of troops was a little daunting, as well as the idea of being locked in a prison cell for the rest of eternity. Not knowing where to go, having no allies in a universe fighting against you...now, that was scary.

But she was unfazed.

"There's always a chance to react. Some may be just...quicker than most."

It was obvious from her phrasing she grouped herself in that catagory.

So the chickie wanted to be cheeky, hm? Fine. Time to teach her a lesson, then.

"Ya t'ink ya really are a threat wit' a toothpick like that?" A subtle tweak of numbers, no obvious movement from Tony, and the dagger was indeed a toothpick in her hand.

Without another word, without even standing from his leaning position, Tony vanished in a flash of green ones and zeroes, the one thing he'd done that hinted at his true nature. Simultaneously, a similar flash formed immediately behind chickie, and two tan arms, covered in shifting gold patterns, grabbed the girl's arms.

"Ya sure about tha chance ta react?" he hissed into her ear, smirking as much as ever, claws digging slightly into her flesh.

This was pretty bad, all things considered.

First off, the pirate's dagger had shrunk considerably. It no longer looked remotely frightening, for one thing. Oh, it was still sharp, of course, but it was beyond Ren's ability to use it.

For she was currently being gripped on the arms rather painfully by the guy.

It was infuriating, really. She'd let her own cockiness get in the way, and now look at her predicament. Not too admirable. And what was more, she hadn't faced any adversary with hidden powers, which apparently this guy had. The Archadian guards were always quite easy to deal with.

She didn't even wince as droplets of blood began to ooze from where the claws pierced her flesh. Once again, her training didn't permit her to. Instead, she was flashing through scenarios in her head, things that had actually happened to her before...

"We've got her!" the guard hollered.

Ren feigned looking relaxed, even though the guard had grabbed her arms and another one was just a few feet from her in case she escaped.

It was just too easy.

In a subtle movement, while the guard holding onto her was preoccupied with shouting for more troops, she lightly twisted her arms, moving them so she was gripping the back of his arms with her hands.

And then, quite suddenly, the guard was on his back, having been flipped there by the pale youth with burning red eyes that was his target.

The other guard drew his sword, but Ren was too quick for him, her leg flashing out so as to unbalance him. It worked--he teetered before toppling to the ground, face-first.

She smirked, racing off in the opposite direction. Too easy.

That was years ago, and Ren hadn't encountered someone hindering her in months. She practiced a lot on the monsters lurking in the Dalmasca Westersands and Giza Plains, so she was reasonably confident she could flip this guy, too.

She shifted into a relaxed pose, subtly twisting her arms in his claws. It went much slower than she would've normally done, mainly because of the claws, which were cutting into her skin. She ignored the pain, deciding to distract the guy as she formed her plan.

"Course I'm sure," she replied breezily, and though her voice was relaxed, a hard, icy edge crept into her tone. "Pirates are one of the more unpredictable ones, wouldn't you say?"

((Heh...loooong...))

((Huzzah for no muses! x_X ))

The chickie was just squirming in his grasp, now. "Unpredictable? Squirm all ya want, ya ain't gonna get outta this one. It's just gonna cut ya open." His grip was pretty tight, and the edges on his claws were starting to glisten with her blood. What exactly did she think she was going to do, anyways?

"Ya never did tell me your name, chickie." His naturally smug smirk seemed sadistic and sinister in this dark, spooky world. Combined with the circumstances...

A passer-by would not be unjustified in questioning Tony's sanity.

Ren smirked, securing her grip on his wrists.

"And by saying there's no way I'm gonna escape, you totally jinxed it, I hope you know."

She shifted her weight for a split second, then twitched her hands.

Using his own weight against him, she ducked, pushing the harrasser in question up and over. The Wren Flip, as it was so aptly named.

((Riiight...kinda left it hanging like that so you can decide how Tony reacts to the flip. >> Tell me if I'm being too god-moddish, 'kay?))
